Following the final presidential debate on Wednesday:
• 47% of voters say Obama won.
• 33% of voters say McCain won.
• 21% of voters were undecided.
• 60% of Republicans think McCain won.
• 76% of Democrats think Obama won.
• Unaffiliated voters saw Obama as the winner by an 11-point spread.
• 67% of voters say the debates were at least somewhat important in terms of how they will vote.
• 27% of voters say the debates were very important in terms of how they will vote.
• 8% of voters say the debates were not important at all in their deciding how to vote.
• 27% of unaffiliated voters say the debates were very important in terms of how they will vote.
• 39% of unaffiliated voters say the debates were somewhat important in terms of how they will vote.
• 53% of voters say they watched all of the final debate.
• 13% of voters say they didn’t watch any of this week’s debate.
• 51% of all viewers say Obama explained his positions more clearly than McCain in the final debate.
• 33% of all viewers say McCain explained his positions more clearly than Obama in the final debate.
• Unaffiliated viewers say Obama was the better explainer by a two-to-one margin.
• 22% of Republican viewers think Obama explained himself better.
• 72% of all viewers say Bob Schieffer of CBS News played a neutral role in the final debate.
Nationally, Obama has opened a stable lead over McCain in both the Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll and the Electoral College projections.
