Denver Clerk, Council Candidates in Run-Off Election
In addition to the two current candidates running for the office of Denver mayor—Michael Hancock and Chris Romer—eight other candidates will participate in the June 7 run-off election. This election will be conducted via mail ballot. Ballots are due to be mailed to voters on May 20 and can be mailed in or dropped off at a Voter Service Center. While Denver Clerk and Recorder candidate Debra Johnson had raised $21,000 as of May 3, $12,500 of that amount came from personal loans she’d taken out to help finance her campaign. Sarah McCarthy had raised a total of $9,400, with none of that amount coming from personal loans. In the May 3 election, Johnson received 29 percent of total votes while McCarthy received 32 percent.
