Buck donated $4,800 to his campaign. The remaining $532,500 reportedly was donated by individuals, with no donations coming from PACs (Political Action Committees).
The 550 Individual donors who gave between $200 and $4800 total to the Buck campaign in 2009 included retirees, doctors, lawyers, venture capitalists, real estate professionals, consultants, and engineers. Denver-area companies and organizations with which some Bennet donors are affiliated include:
--Corporations such as SEAKR Engineering, NRC Broadcasting, Noble Energy, Hensel Phelps Construction, Mark West Hydrocarbon Inc, Lockheed-Martin, Teton Oil & Gas Company
--Restaurants such as The Red Lion Restaurant in Boulder
--Law firms such as Holland & Hart, June & Kelles, Lathrop & Gage
--Financial institutions such as Cache Bank & Trust, Columbine Ventures, Mustang Capital Partners, and AMG National Trust Bank
Donors from outside the state included venture capitalists and other investors in WY, IL, and CA; property developers in NV, AZ, TX, CA, and MD; executives including a vice president with IBM in CT; bankers with JP Morgan Chase offices in IL and Barclays in NY; an associate at Procter & Gamble in OH; attorneys in WY and MD; a general manager of a news station in NY; and a rancher in WY.
Out-of-state donors were responsible for a total of $120,000 in contributions to the Buck campaign as of December 31, 2009, approximately 23% of all funds raised.
