Imagine a great election, an election based on truth.

Imagine informed voters eager to elect the person most widely considered the optimal candidate for running a complex, dynamic country.

Imagine a comprehensive resource designed to help voters prepare for an upcoming election, a resource that presents issues from both sides of the aisle.

Imagine that through this free, non-profit resource, discerning voters can quickly and easily assess both candidates’ views and plans on critical issues.

Imagine a discussion between two voters who’ve accessed such a neutral resource, a discussion based on information and understanding rather than on media sound bites and emotions.

Imagine that you’ve found that resource and are on your way to a more informed future. Welcome to Imagine A Great Election.

MISSION STATEMENT

Imagine A Great Election
is designed to be a practical source of concise information for voters who strive to understand the points of view of both major party candidates. The impact of third-party candidates, polls, the Electoral College, and other important aspects of American presidential elections also will be addressed to help voters fully appreciate the complex and fascinating process of the highest-profile elections of our democratic system.

Also in Imagine A Great Election, news stories are distilled and presented in TODAY’S HEADLINES while candidates’ positions are presented in pages devoted to particular issues. Text on issues pages is pulled from candidates’ relevant statements and speeches, from their web sites, and from party platforms. No commentary is included on these pages so unbiased presentations of candidates’ points of views and plans may be presented.

Personal commentaries are featured in IN OUR OPINION.

In preparation for the first presidential debate of the 2008 election, Imagine A Great Election debuted with a special edition focused on issues of top importance to American voters, including Finance Regulation Reform and Homeownership within the Economy & Taxes category. In the face of a disaster of such historic proportions for the individual taxpayer and voter as the financial meltdown on Wall Street, Imagine A Great Election sought to clarify candidates’ concrete plans of action and how they would impact voters.

Additional issues covered by Imagine a Great Election during the 2008 campaigns included National Security, Foreign Policy, Healthcare, Education, and Energy as well as Civil Rights, Immigration, Environmental Issues, and Poverty. Imagine all this information and more readily available to voters who wish to be quickly informed on the issues that matter most as they prepare to head to the polls each election day.
Imagine a great election.
